foilin' around w/ primark nail foils

finally foiled my nails with the foils i bought in primark the other day. i was right when i said they look massive, THEY ARE. i had to cut them all in half, pretty much. but they were super easy to apply and i think they look okay? they're quite obviously fake so i might try the polka dot ones primark sell too. i've just realised you get 18 in the pack.. i don't understand? why would they give you 18 when you have 10 nails? you hardly need 8 spare??? why not include the extra 2 so you have 2 full sets? AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE? ..apart from that they're not bad for £3.

i've just joined twitter! ~ http://twitter.com/#!/kleebelle so need some people to follow please? leave me your links or follow me and i'll follow back :)

also started a formspring if you have questions (probably not) ~ http://www.formspring.me/kleebelle

gutted it's monday tomorrow, do not want to go back to work!

six hours later

i should have waited to do my little review of chanel mat lumier to include a photo, but nevermind.. here's one now. this is after about 6 hours of wearing it with no touch ups, so not bad. i guess it really does keep shine under control to some extent.

currently snuggled up on the sofa with loupug watching rubbish saturday night tv. pretty dull weekend really. louie went to play with his dad and his other pug friend this morning and next week we're all going to a pug party at the beach! not at all ashamed to admit i'm a crazy pug lady.

fffffist pump

GEORDIE SHORE!?

can't wait to see what kind of people end up on this?! i hope they manage to show newcastle in a somewhat good light and not just charv central. apparently they chose newcastle as their uk location because it's always summer here as the girls never wear coats.. amazing. i'm sure i'll be cringing throughout but I CAN'T WAIT. and if they don't invite me to be part of it i'm going to be furious. party girl, fist pump!

moving swiftly on! after a ridiculous morning at work today - which involved e-mailing about a million different people and trying to get through to another million people i decided enough was enough and took a stroll to the shops. like i ever need an excuse to spend money in my lunch hour?

i thought i'd keep it classy with my primark bag.. and.. a chanel bag! i got some funny looks charging back into the office, not going to lie.

i saw this bag on someones blog yesterday (can't remember who, sorry!) and knew i had to have it. it's so cute. it's a little smaller than i usually like but maybe it'll inspire me to not carry so much junk around. quite ironic that i mentioned i rarely find bags i like and in the past few weeks i've acquired three! deary me. i also picked up some 'cosy tights' - FLEECY TIGHTS! can't wait to try those out, can only imagine how warm my legs are going to be.

i mentioned a few posts back i got a sample of this foundation and well.. i love it so much i bought it. i was reading some of the reviews on makeupalley earlier, which are kind of bad which totally surprised me! i think it's so lovely. i've been using estee lauder doublewear (in shell) but i'm starting to think it's kind of heavy for day time - i love it but it's just a bit TOO much coverage and it flakes quite badly. mat lumiere is the perfect day time foundation, it's matte so keeps away shine in humid offices and long lasting. whilst i don't believe it lasts 12 hours (nor does doublewear on me) it doesn't slide off the skin or anything, it just makes my face look a little dewy after a few hours, rather than greasy! which i don't think is a bad thing at all. it blends into the skin really easily, i've been running late the past few mornings, meaning no time to faff about with makeup brushes so i've been using my fingers.. and honestly, i think i prefer it to a brush application! as for which shade i use, i'm nc15 in mac and 05 faience is a perfect match.

and to end this post,

REALLY WANT THIS. don't think it'll go down too well in the office though. it's from lazy oaf if anyone was wondering!

a penny loafer

spent my lunch hour trying to convince the lady at mac that it wasn't my fault my eyebrow pencil broke (it was broke when i bought it dammit) which involved me running to my bank to print off a statement to prove i bought it (!!) anyway i won in the end and got a new one.. which.. i hope isn't broke. should check that maybe. after that joyful experience ventured to primark and found these little shoes! i'm on the look out for a decent pair of loafers or brogues but can't find any i REALLY like so i thought these would do until i find some. i shouldn't really be spending more money on shoes which are going to fall apart after a few wears when i'm trying to buy good ones to avoid these situations but i'll never learn. anyway they were a respectable ten pounds.

also noticed these... things on my way to the till. nail foils! they look good in theory, i guess but also kind of.. massive?? i'll try them tomorrow i think and take some photos. they're possibly the most tackiest thing in the world, so obviously i bought them. no shame in that. also, noticed i have some new followers! so hi! :)

midlife crisis

i've been told off so many times at work for my skirt/dress being too short so i'm trying to venture out into the world of ~midi~ ..that sounds like i walk around the office with my arse out, i don't, just.. my office doesn't seem to like anything shorter than knee length. anyway, i am not a midi type of girl at all, i don't really own anything longer than just above the knee really. i'm fairly average in height and my legs are quite stumpy so midi scares me.

HOWEVER due to the whole last warning at work thing i might have to give midi a chance. all of the above are via asos. i really love the second outfit in general, the only problem is i'm definitely not 5'9.5 nor am i a size 8..

oh i don't know. perhaps midi will have to wait until i visit a shop or two. until then i will walk around the office hiking my skirt down all day and hope for the best.

pugxlove

today louie pug had a bath! he surprisingly quite enjoys his baths. i think he just loves human contact and the attention, to be honest. he now smells amazing and even used some of his pet head products so smells extra good.

(he was caught watching makeup tutorials on youtube a few days ago!)

last night i went to see the dilemma, if you're going to watch it because you think channing tatum is beautiful and you want to stare at his face - don't bother, he's barely in it. and if you're going because you think it'll be a laugh - don't bother, it's not very funny. despite the iceblast machine being broke and the film being rubbish i fully enjoyed pizza hut, salted popcorn and good company for the evening.

i managed to get some samples of chanel mat lumiere foundation in the two lightest shades yesterday too so i'm going to be trying those out soon, it's SO expensive to buy so i'm expecting good things! picked up a new mac lipstick as well (!), in vegas volt which seems nice. mac lipstick post tomorrow since i've built up a little collection!

one eight seven

WELL. i finally caved and paid £31 for a makeup brush and bought the 187. the mac lady kind of talked me into it but i didn't need much persuasion really..! i fully admit i do NOT get along with foundation applicators, i've tried the mac 190, a beauty blender (which is ok), damp sponges, other brand foundation brushes, fingers.. none of which i've ever thought, YES THIS IS IT, THIS MAKES MY MAKEUP LOOK GOOD. i HATE the 190, it makes my face look streaky no matter how i use it so to pay out £31 for a brush that i wasn't convinced about, despite it's amazing reviews was a pretty big risk on my part. and my verdict?

I LOVE IT. IT IS AMAZING. FABULOUS. WONDERFUL. ETC ETC.

i seriously can't get over how much of a difference it makes! i use it to apply liquid foundation (using doublewear at the moment) AND a setting powder (makeup forever super matte) and it's just.. perfect. it requires less product but makes the skin look flawless, i find my makeup often looks like it sits ON TOP of my skin, but with the 187 it feels like it IS my skin. (creepiest sentence i've ever wrote, probably not the last.)

i will try and provide photo evidence on how it works on me but for now i will leave you with this heavily cropped photograph which kind of shows what i mean.

ps if anyone was wondering i'm wearing the red lace peter pan collar dress from topshop which is going for CRAZY amounts on ebay. so bizarre!

models own ~ what a fabulous offer ~

waking up early on a sunday morning without a hangover was just lovely! (can't say the same for saturday morning, however) making use of my day i trekked to my local tesco, which happens to be the largest supermarket in the UK.. and an absolute nightmare, if you were wondering.. all to take advantage of the free models own kit! all you have to do is collect two tokens which come in fabulous magazine which is free with the news of the world newspaper on a sunday. if you haven't collected your tokens yet you still have time, if you get one today and next week. more info and participating stores here

so in the little pouch you get eyelash curlers, tweezers, mascara, eyeshadow duo and black liquid eyeliner, apparently it's worth £24 but i doubt i'd ever pay even close to that really. i've tried models own lipstick and blush before and been incredibly disappointed by both so i'm hoping i won't be let down by these products either because i LOVE their nail polish. anyway it's free so even if it is rubbish i won't complain.

a swatch of the eyeshadow duo. the colours are quite nice, seems relatively pigmented although quite chalky. that could be because it's just on my hand though and i haven't tried with a primer yet! since i was already in tesco i had a look around F+F but nothing caught my eye, apart from this bag which was half price in the sale - down from £15 to £7.50! bargain.

i'm also going to be dying my eyelashes and eyebrows soon, using the eylure kit so i may save that for another post, depending on how well they turn out..!

what's in my bag

firstly, i have some followers! how exciting! i never imagined anyone would actually read this (apart from my friend holly, hi holly) so thankyoooou and hello!

after work today i popped into primark to have a nosy around - i can't decide if i love or hate working in the city centre, there's just too much temptation to 'pop' into primark/topshop/mac counter! even if i fully intend just to 'have a look' i still manage to spend a fortune. today i was relatively good and only bought a few things.

i've been looking for a new bag for ages, i'm actually quite fussy with bags and have been using the same one for over a year now but i haven't found anything i liked until now-

it was only £8 from primark but i love it! whilst taking the picture i thought i'd show you the contents of it too, because it's new there isn't any junk or rubbish in it which is amazing..! i guess that'll only last a week at most though. anyway in my bag i have:

  • glasses! i need them for reading/computer/work
  • work pass/locker key
  • pug purse (i am obsessed, won't lie)
  • house keys
  • little bottle of marc jacobs lola perfume
  • mac lipstick, think this is cut a caper, i change every few days!
  • mac studiofix powder foundation in nc15 - i use it for touch ups through the day
  • vaseline rosy lips
  • pen
  • blackberry
  • metro pass
  • chewing gum
  • ipod touch
also in primark i picked up some new shoes for work, i have similar ones in brown but they could do with being replaced really. these were cute and cheap so i thought why not! i didn't try them on though and i think i could have done with a 5 instead of a 6 but nevermind. that'll teach me for trying to outsmart primark and they're funny sized shoes.

and lastly i got these from superdrug - sleek contour palette and l'oreal telescopic mascara. if you haven't tried the mascara already i FULLY recommend it. i've tried so many different mascaras (chanel, lancome, mac, makeup forever, clinique, EVERYTHING) and i always come back to this. curl the lashes first and it's absolutely amazing! i haven't tried the contour palette yet but i've heard good things about it, and they finally had it in 'light' today so i thought i'd give it a go. i've been using a mac one, bone and beige (i think) that i do like.. but yes.. we'll see how it goes.

living for the weekend

i figured the first time showing my face in this little blog should be my face at it's happiest, and most natural.. which happens to be after one or two (ten) cocktails. maybe after this i'll feel less of an idiot posing for outfit posts or whatever! (probably not, but nevertheless)

anyway last night my friend holly and i hit the town, so to speak. we did our usual routine of leaving it until the very last minute to decide to go out, bbm'ing each other progress of how far ready we were and drinking as fast as possible to make up for lost time. i think the highlight of my night, or maybe the low point in retrospect was overhearing some teenage girls saying they were going to buy skittles, followed by "..what is skittles?" - that makes me feel so old! how can they not know what this abnormally green cocktail is?! even at sixteen i was MORE than aware of what it was!

after the obligatory fight at the end of the night (apparently some boy with a massive ponytail slapped a girl?) we called it a night and headed home. as i was walking up my street i saw the STRANGEST/SCARIEST THING. a... MASSIVE FOX. just strolling down my street, jesus christ. (for the record i live in the city!) i froze with fear for a second then legged it into my house, woke my dad up to tell him - can't say he was very impressed, it was 3am after all. after my initial shock i passed out without taking my makeup off. awoke this morning with a banging headache and an eyelash stuck to my cheek. standard.

anyway, last night. i'm on the left in all of these (side fringe and leopard print!)

and to end this post, my naughty pug hiding upstairs, where he's definitely not allowed to be.. oops!

mystic mauve

today was my first day back at work since christmas eve (!) and i was sent home at 12 because i'm ill. i literally couldn't stop sneezing and my throat felt like it was on fire. anyway, i had nothing better to do with my afternoon so i painted my nails and took louie dog for walkies. he got tired after twenty minutes (baby legs!) so we came back home and snuggled up on the sofa. absolutely no shame in admitting i watched jeremy kyle before having a power nap. surprisingly feeling a little better now!

i wish i wish i wish

i think it's safe to say from this wish list i like my dresses black and my shoes brown. like everyone i'm quite partial to a peter pan collar, they just make everything so much cuter! i'm also pretty much in love with anything fur lined or covered in feathers.. but realistically i'll probably only buy the boots since i can't quite justify another dress or feather clutch right now. and finally if it wasn't for the £29.50 price tag for the brush i'd buy it in a heartbeat - does anyone have any cheaper (but good quality) recommendations? i'm in dire need of a brush like this!

introduction of sorts

oh hello! i suppose a little introduction wouldn't hurt. my name is klee, i'm twenty three and i find it easier to write my age in letters rather than numbers because then i can choose to ignore the 'three' part. i've recently graduated and moved back home, leaving my student lifestyle (and best friends) 300 miles away. i've somehow ended up with a 9-5 office job that has nothing to do with my degree and a pug puppy who cries when i don't pay him enough attention.

anyway, not entirely sure why i'm doing this or what this will become but.. here we go!
